Basil at Work

Today I took pup to work. I ususally give her a bone of sorts to keep her occupied. This time it was a raw hide wrapped around some mushy stuff. Her mission was to hide the bone from everyone. She walked around with the bone in her mouth, frantically looking for a good spot. If you found her while she was burrying you destroyed her mission and she would start all over. I snapped a couple pictures with my phone so forgive me for the blurriness. The first is what she looked like for 90% of the day. At one point I couldn't find her anywhere. Then I stumbled upon this:

Basil decided to file the bone! I have no idea how she got into this box. :)
Then towards the end of the day I told her she needed to help out around here. Answer the phones, greet the patients, anything! I tried....

3 Weeks 3 Days!

The days is almost here when we can take our little Barley home. I was just told how much of a little bundle of joy he is. Tibbie Jo (our wonderful breeder) called to say he was very playful and gets along great with his house dogs. We cannot wait!

On another note: Casey has his finals this week, so please keep him in your thoughts and prayers!

Memories...

For those of you who remember: I had a rabbit in college. Chickies (named courtesy of my little sister). Chickies was a kind and smart soul. His favorite candies were Smarties. One of the very first bunny snacks I got him were these little pink treats called 'Yogurt Dips'. It got to the point where I'd ask, "Chickies, do you want a Yogurt Dip?" and he'd frantically pace back and forth in his cage. From then on he found a taste for all sorts of human food. He was a bit of a chubby bunny. The guy at the pet store lied and said he was a mini. But I loved him none the less. Chickies did not pass on, I had to give him away. He learned to urinate outside his cage by positioning his rear up the side of it. He needed a home with a yard where he could play and pee at will. An apartment was not suitable for someone of his nature.

When browsing the Internet this morning, I saw a picture that reminded me so much of him. This one's for you Chickies :)
